Rumor has it today is National Coffee Day…and since I don’t drink coffee (gasp, I know!) I figured I’d have to celebrate it some other way. So here is my recipe for an invigorating, skin softening coffee body scrub!

DIY Coffee Scrub
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup coffee grounds
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup nourishing oil (I recommend 1 cup grapeseed or coconut oil, or 1/2 a cup of each)
- 20 drops peppermint essential oil
What to do:
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, then transfer into a smaller container (I use a glass jar – pickle jars, salsa jars, and hot fudge jars make great containers for this. So basically you have to eat something yummy before you can make it 😉
- Use in your morning shower for an invigorating, uplifting experience!
- Peppermint oil is cooling, refreshing, boosts energy, and invigorates the senses
- Coffee grounds and brown sugar will exfoliate away any dead skin
- Either nourishing oil is super moisturizing for skin
- Less dead skin & more moisture = super smooth skin
- Disclaimer: may make a mess in your shower (coffee grounds + water, ya feel?), but it is easily washed away
- I use mostly on my knees, elbows, and heels (where my skin is the roughest) and on my full legs on days between shaving
